Owen Kenny

NYC Ironman

Born down in St. Vincents Hospital in the Village, the NYC Ironman will bring me to the Finish Line on the West Side exactly to the day 44 years later. 24 Weeks of highly scheduled training. Hoping the Race is only about 12 hours, but Running the good 44 years is of-course the Real Race

Ironman NYC  - August 2012   It’s a strange last few weeks leading up to the Ironman. Cause I know I'm ready to complete it, thinking also to challenge 12 Hours. I feel this way because I have the knowledge of knowing I can do it, since once completed. But the "Strange" part is I don't feel any different than I have in the past 35 years of my Athletic life when it wouldn't have b...

It was Rewarding, It was Fun, It was Crazy.  The IRONMAN NYC was Awesome. Well despite a couple of items that will make breaking 12 Hours a challenge, I'm willing to say that will be my Goal !  Why not, if I'm not ready to fully commit to the pain, why bother with competition right ?....   The fact that  3:00 AM wake up call, to a Midtown Bus to a West Side Ferry to the Transition Area and then another Ferry to a Barge 2.4 Miles up the Hudson from th...
